Artist's Comments

"I live on the wrong side of life,
I’m the one you fear as you hold your wife.
I run were the darker crowds run.
On the rain swept streets were black rain runs.

I play were the darker kids play
I’m the one who goes out when you end your day.
I dance were the darker crowds dance,
In the pitch black clubs in a clove stained trance

I see things the darker kids see
Though you wouldn’t believe all that’s happened to me.
I’ve been to the backside of hell,
And I’ve played with your fear and enjoyed it well

This our time, the nights our day
We ’ll dance this fading life away."

The Wrong Side - Abney Park

For the lovely :iconbathrmgrffiti:, who drew this for me [link]

I made up most of the colours since I wasn't sure, and please ignore the stupid pose / obvious lazy parts.

HOLY FUCKING SHIT
I LOVE ABNEY PARK
Dude, I didn't think anyone else liked them!
They are amazing!
:icona-la-blithe:
I have only been able to get my hands on the one song, but I love them all the same! Their website kicks ass, pretty impressive for a fairly underground group! Nice to see someone else likes them too.

We need to get you a thesaurus.

Thank you :>
:iconrozenmaiden5:
What brush did you use for this? It's awesome. *_*
:icona-la-blithe:
um, a lot of brushes. Mostly I fiddle with the opacity, flow, and softness of the brush when I'm colouring. The background uses some free stock images of grunge, though the circles were done by setting the brush to scatter (which toggles in size with the pen pressure) and a fabric texture. I use a lot of free fabric stock images for the clothes, too, which I have set as patterns so I can just use the fill tool. I set a lot of texture and shading layers to overlay or soft light and fiddle with the opacity, also. Dunno if that helps at all, I'm still discovering what I can do with photoshop. Sorry if I'm confusing :<
:iconrozenmaiden5:
No, I'm still very new to it, but i get most of what you're saying. Thanks very much. : )

The picture is neat, so's your icon.
